Disrupt Or Be Disrupted: NGPX 2019

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]This week, the MOFI team (formerly known as the Nason Group) and I had the opportunity to be on stage with many of the nation’s leading disruptors in healthcare at the Next Generation Patient Experience (NGPX) Conference in Palm Springs, CA. The week was filled with new learnings, authentic connections, emotional stories, and most important, the ability to focus on the purpose of the work we do, not just the task, and that is, HUMANS!

Bethanee Epifani states, ”Your Gifted Purpose Here on Earth Is to Live Out Your Days Being and Bringing Your Best Self.”

This year’s NGPX was a huge reminder of how badly we need each other in our everyday lives and work. There are so many bright, talented people working to disrupt our broken healthcare system, but no change will happen if we continue working in silos. We’ve got to band together and do some radical collaboration to create a revolution. We have to be willing to be the canary that sings from the mine.

With all of the brain power in the room, we wanted to capture what people were hearing, thinking, and feeling throughout the event. Here are some of the insights that we gathered from this rich experience:

Pam Guler – Chief Experience Officer, Advent Health

“Disruption! We need to keep disrupting ourselves. And, I loved learning about Walmart Health and hearing about the work that has already been done.”

Toyin Ajose – Chair, Department of Pediatrics at Kona Community Hospital

“Shawn and MOFi pulled off the most amazingly unorthodox series of training sessions. They used music and color to stimulate our senses. They asked us to draw pictures to explore solutions to obstacles we face at our core facilities. And, they even helped us create superhero costumes to drive home their core belief: Disruption!”

Lynn D. Charbonneau – Manager, Patient Relations/Patient Experience, Tampa General Hospital

“I’ve been a part of this event since its inception and sit on the board. Sometimes conferences are too big and lose the ability for people to connect. NGPX is just the right size. I am always impressed that we have been able to attract leaders and innovators like Shawn Nason to come and speak. I loved what we did with MOFi yesterday in the superhero workshop—it was beyond fun and meaningful!“

In addition, our team was able to facilitate several sessions throughout the week,  some of disruptors in the “Put You Middle Finger Away and Start Getting Sh*t Done” breakout session had some fun creating superhero personas and powers. You can see below how much fun it was.

In the Disruptor’s Pledge, one of the most important lines is: Build a league of heroes who will change the system. Meaning, none of us can do this alone, but together we can disrupt the healthcare industry.

Join us in our common passion to change the status quo and disrupt the healthcare industry.

We look forward to seeing you next year for NGPX 2020![/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row]
